Skills are playbooks that tell an agent how to do a kind of work (tone, steps, checks). They are not the same as tools — tools are the actions; skills are the procedure. Open Skills. The library follows the End user in the top bar. Switch end user and My Skills changes with it.

Skills do not replace tools. After you attach a skill, still review Select Tools (a skill may suggest tools when you apply it — confirm what was pinned).

My Skills vs Browse

The Skills page has two main tabs.

My Skills

Skills already in the selected end user’s library.
  • Search: Search My Skills…
  • Badges such as Featured, Installed, Yours, Just installed
  • Empty: No skills yet with Create Skill or Browse
  • Remove: Delete skill? for skills you created, or Uninstall skill? for installed catalog skills (you can install again from Browse)

Catalog of skills you can add.
  • Callout How install works: platform skills by default; search can also find Registry results. Install adds to your library — it does nothing until you attach the skill to an agent.

  • Registry skills: Install (often with GitHub / skills.sh links)
  • Already in library: In library / Added

Create a skill

On the form you typically set:
  • When to use — short trigger for when this playbook applies
  • Instructions — the steps and rules
  • Optional Start from a template
  • Optional Select known tools (suggestions — still verify on the agent)
  • More options — category, tags, skill id when shown
After create, find it under My Skills, then attach it on an agent. Platform/registry skills you did not create may be read-only on the detail page.

Attach skills to an agent

In Workflows & Agents, open the agent for the same end user:
  1. Open the Skills section
  2. Click Select Skills
  3. Pick from the library, or browse/install into My Skills from the modal
  4. Confirm Attached skills (use View skill to review)
Keep the set small — agents allow a limited number of skills (on the order of ten). Attaching skills can turn on advanced planning options in the editor when the product offers them.

Tips

  • Install ≠ attach. Adding to My Skills does nothing until Select Skills on the agent.
  • Keep When to use short; put detailed steps in Instructions.
  • Pin required tools separately under Select Tools.
  • Uninstall removes from the library; Delete permanently removes a skill you own (Yours).
  • Switch End user before create/install so the library lands on the right person.
